IrishWrath has taken an interest in Warfare, ships, tanks etc. When one of my children shows an interested in something I get them all the books they want on that subject. Learning doesn’t have to be a set curriculum. Learning is learning no matter the subject, well that’s my view 🙂

Battle at Sea: 3,000 Years of Naval Warfare
The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Warfare
Tanks: Inside & Out (Weapons of War)
Warships Inside Out
Military Jets: Design and Development: 1945 to the Present Day

How do you guys find time to read so much? I’m struggling trying to get my daughter to stick with one book. She only reads a few chapters then quits and moves on to a new book. I wish my kids read like this! 🙂

Jenn, I think the best think I ever did for my boys was help them love to read. I started them reading on my lap when they were babies and I have always prioritized reading over everything else. Maybe if you find a subject your daughter loves and get some great books on it you might ignite her love of reading?

When I made my son read an hour a day he got faster and better at it, when we let him slack off , not only did he slow down but his grades would suffer too. Now reading is a must, no options. I’ve homeschooled a few years then sent the kids back to school. With this common core mess in schools now, I think we might go back to homeschooling.

Hi MyersNHP. Reading is the corner stone of our homeschool. My boys read at least an hour a day for school, and another hour+ for pleasure. Reading is a must for us too, no options! Good luck if you decide to homeschool again 🙂
