Aviation Heritage Museum
Goodbye Western Australia!
And hello Victoria! It’s good to be home. No matter how fantastic a vacation is, I LOVE to come home! We had a blast in Perth, and I still have a few things to share with you. Being busy every day with trips to museums, beaches, and the like is so tiring, I need a vacation after that vacation! I think we will be hanging at home for a couple of weeks. Here is something we did one of those days. If you ever manage to get to Perth, and you love airplanes, The Aviation Heritage Museum is the place for you!
The museum is spread over two buildings, connected with a walkway, and has a hanger-like feel to it. Perfect for displaying airplanes,
lots of engines,
aviation memorabilia,
and a helicopter to fly.
The helicopter was a highlight. Look at the pilot, he’s really going for it!
We came here after out visit to Fremantle Prison, and I think the boys had cops & robbers on their minds. See IrishKing has his hand gun in action.
Oh, oh, I’m getting shot at!
He must be putting in a call for back up, I’m not going down without a fight!!
Myself and IrishCyborg started to tire, and took the weight off for a while. His weight being a lot less than mine.
As we rested, we watched the others.
This is what IrishDev was snapping away at. Isn’t it amazing what different people find interesting? I didn’t even notice these till I saw him looking at them.
More people taking a break, as their dad “just has another quick look around”. Be prepared for the nerds amongst you to love this place, while others might need rests.
We spent a lovely hour here, and it didn’t feel like a museum, more like a much-loved private collection, gracefully shown by a team of dedicated and friendly volunteers. The Aviation Heritage Museum is well worth an hour or two of your time, particular if you are collecting coins!
