Christmas Photoshoot 2014
Hey! How’s it going? Long time no see. I’ve been missing in action, and for no good reason except life, kids, cats, and a major case of lazyitis! Yep, I’ve got it bad. So bad that I haven’t shared our Christmas photo shoot which happened about 4 months ago. So here it is, cause I know you’ve been hangin’ out for it.
Every year I try to get Christmas cards printed, with pictures of my boys, for the family and friends, because they’re always longing to see my precious boys, and their lovely smiles staring at them… all through the holidays. Well, I’m pretty sure some recipients like them? Anyone? Mum, you like them, right??!
Last year I was particularly organized. I planned on taking the photos for days, weeks even. I knew what date they needed to be sent to the printer, so would have them back in plenty of time to send all over the world. That date was fast approaching, and I waited, and waited, and waited some more, until if I waited any longer they would have been the cards for 2015!! (And they were, for some…sorry about that Auntie)
Not ones to stick to the boring Santa hats we have used for about eight years, this year we went all out and got a couple of new festive hats. Ok, honestly, I couldn’t find the Santa hats. I put them somewhere safe last year, but now I CAN’T FIND THEM!!!
Anyways, off to a park, and a few quick snaps, click, click and Bob’s your uncle. How easy is it to take a photo with four kids all smiling, and looking right at the camera? IT’S NOT!!! Mine are allergic to all looking at the camera at the same time, like they will spontaneously combust if they do. Or maybe they just do it to annoy me, some kind of power struggle thing. Either way, I usually end up bribing them into good behavior, and smiles. Or threatening them, but I usually start with bribes. I’m such a great mother!
Look at IrishWrath’s (second from left) fake happy face. He needs to work harder for that bribe/reward!!
Come on IrishWrath, less fake fake smile, please!!!
Some poses, to get the best picture for the front of the card. Some cheeky elves?
A couple of too-super-fly-looking guys here?
Rock-eyed Santa?
A group shot is always my ambition, one with all eyes open!
“It burns!!! It burns!!!!”
“I need to hold my eyes open, Mum, the sun is too strong!!… winge, winge, winge”
“Mum, we are about to spontaneously combust… whine, whine, whine!!!”
After nearly 16 years of having boys, there’s one thing I know… when their ‘being good’ time is up. No more sitting still and being obedient models. Time to let boys be boys, and they are often my favourite shots.
Noisy, giddy, playful, and mine.
