confessions of a shop-a-holic… or four

The agenda today was decided early… Shopping. Not for clothes (well not much) but for toys and board games. We had a casual breakfast at a reasonable hour, then drove the half hour back to Carlsbad, where we were yesterday. We found the same Toys’R’Us as yesterday and got some extra board games in Barnes & Noble.

Giant Chess Gmae

Our other shopping experience for the day was in a Carlsbad Mall; Macy’s and Sears but we didn’t buy much. IrishWrath played IrishCyborg & IrishDoom in a a game of chess (with big pieces). Whilst in Barnes & Noble, I found the computer book section and was amazed at the selection out on the shelves; when we lived in Ireland I remember talking to a friend who was complaining about the lack of IT books in our bookstores “Not one Cisco Press book!” he was saying. That was a few years ago and I reckon by now there is one Cisco Press book in Easons and if you go to a bookstore in Melbourne you’ll probably see two. Of course you can get them from Amazon but here there is a whole shelf of cisco press books, and iPhone/android/wxphpml…whatever! IrishWrath & IrishCyborg love Barnes & Noble for the selection of board games alone. We had lunch, then more shopping and back to the Hotel for dinner and to play some of the board games. It was a relaxing day, to recharge and plan for tomorrow.
