Crafts for Kids, the easy way part 2

Part 1

Part 2: This morning kids wanted to do some more crafts. Sunday means nothing to them, don’t they know it’s my day off? Never mind, with Ancient Far East Discovery Kit craft for kid is easy. We decide to do the fish printing, Gyotaku. Gyotaku is an ancient Japanese custom of taking a rubbing of a fish. The kit comes with everything needed for this activity, and clear instructions, including a few hits for the squeamish mums.

First we carefully washed the fish, rubbing from head to tail so not to loosen the scales.

Then we used some paper towels to pat dry. Out came the paint, and boys set to work.

They had multiple goes at this. Painting the fish, taking a print, rubbing off the paint, and starting again.
