Gold Coast Again!

Do you have a favorite holiday destination? Somewhere that you know well, and return to year after year?  We do, and it’s Queensland. We have been numerous times, and always enjoy it. Read about our Queensland 2013 trip here. Well, Guess what? We are here again!

And yet again those DSs came in handy for the airport and flight. I don’t think my boys came up for air for two hours straight.

I asked IrishWrath to help his brothers with their cases up the stairs. Those metal stairs are a little tricky with short legs and a big bags. He took their bags and carried them up for them. Moments like that make me proud.

The flight was short, and I spend most of the time trying to sleep. I had a terrible night sleep the night before, as I was worried we would miss our flight. I had set every alarm in the house, so there was no chance of not waking up, but the worrier in me still worried. When I couldn’t sleep on the plane I admired the clouds, and tried to remember some cloud name from a download myself and the boys did a few weeks ago. I asked one of my boys to help me identify the clouds, but he didn’t want to look out airplane windows. I told him it was okay to be scared of heights. He replied, “I’m not scared of heights, I’m scared of falling!”

After we dumped our stuff in the room, we brought the boys to the pool to get some exercise.  I went out on the balcony to take this photo of the pool, and I was scared the whole time. Not scared of heights mind you, but scared of falling!

There is our room, all the way at the top, the three jutting out bits, with two balconies. Have I ever told you how much I don’t like balconies?

While at the pool IrishKing asked me to do something for him.
