phish food for my valentine
IrishMum and I first tasted ‘Phish Food’ sometime after IrishWrath was born. I can’t be sure exactly when but it was when we lived in Lucan (Dublin, Ireland) so it was between ’99 and ’03. It’s been IrishMum’s favorite ice cream since, but it hasn’t been available in Australia till recently (albeit at an exorbitant price so we don’t get it much). Seeing as it is readily available here, and we are on holidays we’ve been to Whole Foods twice in as many days for ice cream dinner special. The kids loved the novelty of it. We didn’t plan it this way but that is how our Valentine’s day worked out.
First stop this morning was a specialty shop on the other side of town for Vibram five-finger shoes; they are light soled shoes with fingers for your toes that make it feel like walking barefoot. IrishMum has had a pair for a while in Australia and she swears by them. Two of the guys I work with also bought pairs online. They look weird, but they are going to catch on. IrishCyborg loves the look and the idea of them so he, IrishDoom, IrishWrath and I also got pairs. The girl helping us sure made her commission this morning! Whilst at the shop IrishCyborg found the balaclava section and had to try one on.
Afterward we headed back to the Outlets we were at yesterday to conclude the tour of duty; Tommy Kids, the Gap and Sketchers in particular. Originally we told the kids that we would go to a park in the afternoon, but they weren’t too pushed on the idea when the afternoon rolled round. They were tired and wanted to chill out so we went for ice cream in Whole Foods then came home. We had a dip in the pool, then the kids alternated between playing in the games room or watching TV for the rest of the night.
