sitting by the edge of the pool

We packed up and switched hotels after breakfast. No upgrade this time! After lunch we went to a shopping mall in Huntington Beach. There is an outdoors shop there called REI that we bought some ski wear from online last year, so it was good to peruse the current stock. We also spent some time in Staples (they’ve got a kindle fire) & Barnes and Noble. The first book display inside the door in B&N was for St. Patrick’s Day. I was somewhat surprised to see the Steve Jobs biography in the “Religion” section, but you know those Apple fanboys are a bit cultish.

Afterward we got dinner in Whole Foods, watched some republican presidential nomination stuff on TV (go Rick Romney!) and then some food shopping there too before heading back to the hotel for some time at the pool. I had expected it to be cold and for the kids to not want to but in the end they were more than happy to play for an hour or so. In the car on the way home from the mall, IrishCyborg commented that he might want to become a politician… but then thought better of it because as he put it ” you always have to say you are better than everyone else and that your country is the best” to which IrishDoom piped up “well I’m better than you so I’m a politician!”
