so long and thanks for all the fish!

I got soaked getting into the car this morning; it was raining and we had decided to use the day to visit SeaWorld again (for a walk at least), so as I was putting the kids in the car the rain started coming down in buckets. I had bought some rain ponchos in LegoLand so we used these today. The park was empty, which I guess is because people believe they, like the wicked west of the east, will melt if they get wet…but not us; oh no we braved the weather and it was worth it.

Journey to atlantis

The Rain Poncho look is this season’s new look

All the rides that were open the other day were still open but the queue time was zero mins. IrishWrath and I rode on the Manta coaster at the start of the day, and once more just before leaving. I brought IrishCyborg and IrishKing on the journey to atlantis five or six times in a row (we each took a turn on the front row, which gets soaked, and came out ok thanks to the rain ponchos).

IrishWrath and I rode the Kraken twice. Then we sauntered over to the Dolphin and Whale Show. The show was brilliant; the dolphins did throw the trainers in the air a few times, but they seemed very happy animals (getting their fishy rewards after every ‘trick’) and a significant part of the show was the trainers doing acrobatic dives from trapeze swings. At the end of the show there was a very complicated arrangement of dolphin twists, loops splashes and jumps which could very well have been a message of some sort…I dunno!

After the show we saw the penguins and the shark aquarium (which has a sixty foot long tunnel under the aquarium). Next it was over to the kids section again to get some ice cream. IrishDoom was back in the ice cream eating frame of mind, although he did share it freely (parental tax on ice cream is high in our house and there are some that would try to evade their dues).

I asked IrishCyborg for a spoon of ice cream.

After ice cream we headed to the Arctic section for the helicopter simulator followed by a look at the polar bear, walrus’ and belugas.

If it rains tomorrow we will go to Universal again and hope it’s just as empty.
